Music- All of the different countries are known to have different styles and genres when it comes to music. Chilean music connects to the diversity and the richness of their culture that have been influenced in the past and present. The national dance of Chile is called the "Cueca" which has come from the Spanish, African, Peruvian, and the indigenous parts of Chile. The story of the dance is related to a man and a woman who are being coy with each other. There are different variations of the dance within the Northern, Southern, and Central parts of Chile. The song of Chile is considered to be in the style of Tonada. This is not accompanied by a dance but it is more melodic when it's played. Some of the music today is more modern, pop has made an appearance in Chile as well as urban and cosmic rock. Even though these genres are there folk music will always be a big part of Chile.
Theater- Chile has made a great return to theater. The offer dozens of shows each week that everyone wants to see. They do drama, comedy, Shakespeare, and even children's theater. In Santiago every summer they host Festival Internacional Santiago a Mil, which is a festival of street drama. Towards the end of the 19th century theater was considered to be only for the upper class not for the other classes who couldn't afford to see the plays going on. Nowadays anyone can go and they even offer concerts in addition to the many plays that they put on. There are around 20 different theater companies.
Art- Chile has a very great record of art and literature. The social and political parts of Chile have a big influence on the artists and inspire them to protest and do the things that they do. Chile's churches and cathedrals are a very big part of the art and culture in Chile. Local Indian art is a big part of the Chile culture heritage as well. There is a sculpture who is in Chile that is displayed outside the Fine Arts in Santiago it is called "Icarus and Daedalus" and the original sculpture was commissioned of the government of Chile as a gift to the Brazilian government and it can found in the park of Rio de Janeiro.
Architecture- Some of the latest great building designs are Palermo Cultural Center, Cardenal Belarmino Office Building, Caterpillar House, Outside IN House, World Green Center, Casa MAVA, Casa Omnibus, Casa El Pangue, Elqui Domos Astronomical Hotel, Lycée María Auxiliadora Building, etc. Architecture is a important part of the Chilean culture.
